QUINCY HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIPS

DEAR STUDENT:

The following pages contain information on scholarships that are available to graduates of Quincy High School.

Each scholarship is described in detail listing the origin, eligibility, amount, and general information covering its application at this time.  The sponsoring group may change the award

All completed applications, except the ones labeled ‘STUDENT MAILS’, must be returned to the Career Center on February 28th by 3:00 pm.  Late applications will not be accepted!  Check the others to get the correct deadline, some will have a postmark deadline and some a receipt deadline – read carefully If additional information is required you are encouraged to contact the donors of the scholarship or a guidance counselor.

Scholarship applications are available on the school district website at www.qsd.wednet.edu .   High School - Counseling - Scholarships.

All students are encouraged to read over the following pages as you might find yourself eligible for scholarships that you did not know about.  Every year there are thousands of scholarships that go to waste because a student does not apply or fails to meet a deadline.  Every college in the state of Washington has a financial aid office that you can write to or call for further information.

Unless the application file specifies STUDENT MAILS, the completed application forms will be forwarded to the sponsoring agency or club for their selection of a winner and alternate.  Each sponsoring group establishes their own ground rules for the selection of award winners.  If you have questions as to the selection process, you should look under the information section for each scholarship.

The deadline for a student to ask any teacher for a written recommendation is February 1st.  College students should contact teachers and registrars immediately.  Sometimes it takes a few weeks to get transcripts and letters of recommendation.  Recommendation letters need to be dated and current.

The Quincy School District #144-101 complies with all federal

rules and regulations and does not discriminate on the basis

of race, color, national origin, sex, or handicap.  This holds true for

all students who are interested in participating in educational programs

and/or extracurricular school activities.  Inquiries regarding compliance

procedures may be directed to the school district's superintendent.
