What is Enrichment?
Pioneer Elementary school offers School Wide Enrichment to all students. This is an opportunity to be introduced to new experiences and ideas through speakers, assemblies, mentors and exploratory activities. “Challenge Enrichment” Is a pull out program for students to receive an extra challenge out side of the regular classroom.
Challenge Enrichment
Challenge Enrichment recognizes students who possess unique talents and capabilities. It is for those who have a need for more challenging enrichment opportunities both in and out of the regular classroom. These students receive Challenge Enrichment for 30 minutes 4 days per week. The focus is on math and science enrichment. Students do interactive simulations where they solve problems and challenges in a simulated real-world situation. Students learn to analyze information, work collaboratively, share ideas and information, and develop critical thinking skills. Challenge Enrichment also includes Inquiry Based Science where students will learn the scientific process to ask questions and experiment to find answers. Challenge Enrichment is a learning community where students feel safe to take risks and work outside their comfort zone. It promotes mutual respect and caring attitudes toward one another as they challenge themselves and develop their unique talents.
Nomination Procedures
Parents, teachers, students, and community members can nominate students for Enrichment. If you would like to nominate a student, you may fill out the Parent/Community Member Nomination Form available at the school office or online at the Pioneer Web page. Selection into the Challenge Enrichment Program will be made by the Highly Capable Team at the beginning of each school year.
School Wide Enrichment
Every student receives enrichment through the School Wide Enrichment Program. This is a 45 minute period every 2-4 weeks. Students learn art elements, technology skills, creative problem solving, and critical thinking. This is an opportunity to broaden students’ interests and experiences beyond the regular classroom activities. This is an engaging learning environment that broadens the experiences of all students.

Son para esos quienes necesitan más retos en las oportunidades de enriquecimiento dentro y fuera del salón regular. Estos estudiantes reciben enriquecimiento por 30 minutos 4 días a la semana. Este enfoque de enriquecimiento es en matemáticas y ciencia. Los estudiantes hacen una simulación interactiva donde ellos resuelven problemas y retos en una simulación de situación de la vida real. Estudiantes aprenden a analizar información, trabajar colaborativamente, compartir ideas e información, y desarrollar unas habilidades de pensamiento crítico. Enriquecimiento de reto también incluye información sobre ciencia donde los estudiantes estarán aprendiendo del proceso científico en hacer preguntas y experimentar en encontrar las respuestas. El enriquecimiento es una comunidad de aprendizaje donde los estudiantes se sienten seguros en tomar riesgos y trabajar fuera de la zona confortable. Promover respeto mutuo y una actitud de cariño hacia el uno al otro a como ellos se retan ellos mismos y desarrollan su talento único.
Procedimientos de nominaciones
Padres, maestros, estudiantes, y miembros de la comunidad pueden nominar estudiantes para enriquecimiento. Si usted le gustaría a nominar a un estudiante, usted puede llenar la forma de nominación de Padres/Miembros de la Comunidad disponible en la oficina de escuela o por la página de Internet de Pioneer. La selección para el programa de enriquecimiento será hecha por un equipo alto capacitado el comienzo de las clases.
Enriquecimiento para la Escuela
Cada estudiante recibe enriquecimiento durante el programa. Este son solo 45 minutos cada 2 a 4 semanas. Estudiantes aprenden elementos de arte, tecnología, problemas creativos, y pensamiento crítico. Esta es una oportunidad de ampliar el interés de los estudiantes y experimentar más allá de las actividades del salón regular. Esto es un aprendizaje interesante mas allá de la experiencia a todos los estudiantes.
