QUINCY HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

The following pages contain information on scholarships that are available to graduating seniors of the Quincy School District.

Each scholarship is described in detail. The sponsoring group may change the award at any time. Each sponsoring group establishes their own ground rules for the selection of award winners.

All completed applications, except the ones labeled ‘Student Mails’, must be returned to the QHS Counseling & Career Center by Friday, February 26th 2016 at 3:00 pm. Late applications will not be accepted. Check the others to get the correct deadline. If additional information is required you are encouraged to contact the donors of the scholarship or a counselor.

Read over all scholarship descriptions, you might find yourself eligible for scholarships that you did not know about.

Deadlines:

  • Friday, February 19, 2016: Deadline to order transcripts from Mrs. Albrecht in the Counseling & Career Center. 
  • Friday, Feburary 26, 2016: All scholarships (other than ‘Student Mails’) due to the QHS Counseling & Career Center by 3pm.

No late scholarships will be accepted.

LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP DESCRIPTIONS

ANONYMOUS DONOR WSU SCHOLARSHIP Student Mails- Due February 29, 2016

One $5,000 scholarship created by an anonymous donor awarded to a Quincy School District graduating senior going to Washington State University. 2.5 minimum GPA required. Applicant must demonstrate financial need, be a good citizen and demonstrate above average effort in high school. Find at www.columbiabasinfoundation.org listed under Quincy High School. The CBF office must receive the application by 5:00pm on February 29th, not postmarked on that date.

KEN ARDELLSCHOLARSHIP Student Mails - Due April 1, 2016

Six $1,500 scholarships to Grant & Adams County graduating seniors. Student must have been in 4H or FFA for at least two years. Find at county.wsu.edu/grant-adams click on 4-H, Youth & Families/Scholarships/Ken Ardell Scholarship.

DEPUTY JOHN BERNARD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Student Mails - Due February 29, 2016

Scholarship to a graduating senior from any Grant County high school that is pursuing a degree in criminal justice or law enforcement related degree. 3.0 minimum GPA required. Applicant must demonstrate a history of volunteerism and/or outside employment. Find at www.columbiabasinfoundation.org listed under Regional. BIG BEND COMMUNITY COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP Student Mails - Due February 19, 2016

Complete one application to apply for numerous scholarships (athletic, education, agriculture, learning disabilities, math, science, minority, automotive, welding, aviation, computer science, medical assistance & many generic scholarships offered). Find application at www.bigbend.edu click on Admissions/Financial Aid/Foundation Scholarships.

JOE BULLERI MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Student Mails - Due March 1, 2016

Two $2,000 scholarships open to Quincy High School graduating seniors and alumni pursuing a degree compatible with service to the tree fruit industry at an accredited two or four year college or university. Find at www.waef.org/scholarships.

COLUMBIA COLSTOR SCHOLARSHIP Student Mails - Due February 29, 2016

Scholarship to a graduating Quincy School District senior or alumni who is a dependent of a Columbia Colstor employee. 2.5 minimum GPA required. Find at www.columbiabasinfoundation.org listed under Regional. The CBF office must receive the application by 5:00pm on February 29th, not postmarked on that date.

*DRU GIMLIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP ( spreadsheet Excel (169 KB) , pdf PDF (82 KB) Due February 26, 2016

$750 scholarship to one male and one female athlete - team managers will also be considered. Applicants must have participated in Quincy High School sports for a minimum of two years. 2.8 minimum GPA required. Complete only one Rotary application. Check all scholarships you are applying for; if no scholarships are checked you will not be considered.

One $500 scholarship to a Quincy High School graduating senior planning to attend a public college or university in Washington. Preference may be given to students entering the medical field. Student must maintain a 3.0 college GPA.

One $500 scholarship to a Grant County graduating senior going into an agricultural or related field. 2.0 minimum GPA required. Parent must be a current member of the Farm Bureau.

Three $1,000 and Two $500 scholarships will be awarded to students residing in and graduating from Grant County High Schools. 3.0 minimum GPA required. Must be planning a career in agriculture or home economics.

BOB JAMISON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Student Mails - Due February 29, 2016

Scholarship to a graduating senior from any Grant County high school. Applicant must attend Big Bend Community College in the Welding or Automotive programs only. Must exhibit a persistence to learn, show motivation to overcome difficulties and work hard. Find at www.columbiabasinfoundation.org listed under Regional. The CBF office must receive the application by 5:00pm on February 29th, not postmarked on that date.

JAIME KRAUSSE-CAMPBELL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Student Mails - Due February 29, 2016

Scholarship to a graduating senior from any North Central Washington high school. Applicant must be pursuing a military career defined as: entering college through the ROTC program, enlisted military personnel or Officer Candidate School. Find at www.columbiabasinfoundation.org listed under North Central Washington. The CBF office must receive the application by 5:00pm on February 29th, not postmarked on that date.

PAUL LAUZIER FOUNDATIONSCHOLARSHIP Student Mails - Due February 26, 2016

Open to students graduating from high schools in Grant County going to 2 year, 4 year, or vocational schools in the State of Washington. Find at www.lauzier.org click on High School Senior Application.

LEADERSHIP 1000 SCHOLARSHIP Student Submits Online - Due March 7, 2016

One $20,000 ($5,000 per year) scholarship to a Quincy High School graduate planning to attend the University of Washington. See website for full details.

Scholarship to Grant County graduating seniors or alumni who are in the process of completing their two year general university requirements prior to entering their major field of study. Chemical or Mechanical Engineering major will be considered first, Business Administration or Finance/Accounting second. Must be attending a four year university. 3.30 minimum GPA required.
