The Quincy School District has just completed a K-12 Social Studies materials adoption process during the 2008-09 school year. Materials that have been purchased to support instruction in all classrooms have been aligned to the K-12 state standards in our efforts to ensure that all students at each grade level meet or exceed identified social studies learning targets.
During this initial year of implementation teachers will be collaboratively developing and implementing common formative assessments for each grade level/course in order to:
- Assist in the evaluation of material effectiveness;
- Support collaborative conversations about effective instruction;
- Allow collaborative scoring, data review and intervention planning; and
- To identify and provide additional professional developments needs
We are excited to be able to provide up-to-date instructional materials that will support a K-12 continuum of hands-on, engaged learning opportunities for all students.
