Superintendent's Message
Welcome to our school district website! I hope that you will find helpful information about our schools and district as you use this site. We have recently completed a major upgrade to our website with the intention of making it more user friendly.
The Quincy School District is committed to improving student academic performance while working to prepare all students to become responsible, productive citizens as our primary mission. To that end, we have carefully developed a clear and concise district improvement plan that serves as a guide. Our goals are focused on 1) assuring that all students demonstrate proficiency and growth in relation to high learning standards and 2) eliminating the "achievement gaps" that are associated with language barriers, poverty or ethnicity.
In order to reach these goals, we have identified five key areas of work and emphasis that we believe are most important as follows:
- Making better use of student test results and other data to help guide decisions
- Providing focused and effective professional development on a district-wide scale
- Emphasizing collaboration and teamwork
- Utilizing a systematic, district-wide process for curriculum development and implementation
- Encouraging and promoting effective parent involvement
Each school in the Quincy School District has also developed a School Improvement Plan that is aligned with the district plan. Staff members are working together across the district to meet the specific goals outlined in these plans. We welcome the help and involvement of parents and interested community members as we strive to make Quincy Schools the best they can be.
