S.A.F.E. K.I.D.S.

VISION STATEMENT

To provide opportunities for all students to participate in learning experiences that develop each child's problem solving, academic, cooperative and creative capabilities so that all students can be productive, independent learners and responsible, caring citizens.

At Mtn. View Elementary we welcome you! Some of you have been with us in the past; for others, you are just now joining our school community. We welcome ALL of you to our school this year and encourage your active participation.

School is a big and important part of your son or daughter's education and to let him/her know that you place a high value on the importance of school studies and daily attendance is significant. Being visible around the school, setting time aside for homework, asking questions, sharing concerns, and showing interest in what your son or daughter is doing at school only allows us all the opportunity to provide the best educational experience and growth possible for your son/daughter.

We believe that in order to maximize your child's success that we must maintain regular open communication. Look for our monthly newsletters. Make arrangements to come visit. Get involved in your child's classroom. Attend parent/teacher conferences. Check on your child's
progress. Ask questions. Join our Parent Volunteer Committee (PVC) or the Schoolwide Action Committee. Be involved.

Know that you are ALWAYS welcome. Know that your contributions to your son or daughter's education, both at school and at home, are imperative, beneficial and appreciated. We consider it an honor and a privilege to have your child in our school. We look forward to developing a positive relationship with you. Together Everyone Achieves More.

Welcome to the Mtn. View Elementary T.E.A.M.

Together we can make a difference!

REPORTING SYSTEM:
We formally report student progress three times per year at the end of each trimester.
Each parent is encouraged to attend a parent/teacher conference in the fall. Additional progress
reports and parent/teacher conferences do occur throughout the year for selected students. Please
contact us whenever you have any questions or concerns about your child's progress.

CHANGE OF ADDRESS, PHONE, EMERGENCY CONTACT OR MOVING
When CHANGES OCCUR, the school needs to know IMMEDIATELY so that you
may be reached in case of emergencies. Please send a note or call the school. Inform the school as soon as possible if you are moving.

ASSEMBLIES:
We hold a "Starshine" recognition assembly at the end of each month. This is an opportunity for classroom presentations as well as an opportunity to celebrate the successes of individual students.
Additional assemblies are held throughout the year to celebrate holidays and as an extension of classroom curriculum.
PARENT VISITATION:
Our doors are always open to parents. If you wish to speak with a teacher or the principal, you will need to make an appointment. Any visitors to the building must check in at the office. We invite your questions, concerns and support.

ACCIDENTS:
In the event of an emergency at school, the principal, nurse, secretary or other adult competent in first aid will give treatment. Parents will be notified for injuries beyond minor bumps, scratches and bruises. If the family is not available, the emergency number listed on
school records will be called. Please notify the school office if there are changes in this information.
