Quincy School District Celebrates Mark Kondo’s Induction into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame

Quincy School District is proud to announce that longtime Quincy coach Mark Kondo will be inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame by the Washington Chapter as a 2026 recipient of the prestigious “Lifetime Service” award.

The “Lifetime Service” award is one of the highest honors in the sport of wrestling. It recognizes individuals who have dedicated their lives to supporting and growing wrestling while positively impacting young people.
Throughout his career, Mark Kondo has devoted countless hours to mentoring student-athletes, teaching discipline, perseverance, and leadership both on and off the mat. His commitment to students and the Quincy community has helped shape generations of young people and strengthened the tradition of wrestling in our district.
Mark will be permanently recognized at the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Events Center in Federal Way, Washington.

El Distrito Escolar de Quincy se enorgullece en anunciar que el entrenador de Quincy por muchos años, Mark Kondo, será incorporado al Salón de la Fama Nacional de Lucha por el Capítulo de Washington como uno de los homenajeados del 2026 con el prestigioso premio “Servicio de por Vida”.
El premio “Servicio de por Vida” es uno de los reconocimientos más altos en el deporte de la lucha. Se otorga a personas que han dedicado su vida a apoyar y fortalecer este deporte, al mismo tiempo que han impactado de manera positiva a los jóvenes.
A lo largo de su carrera, Mark Kondo ha dedicado incontables horas a orientar y apoyar a estudiantes-atletas, enseñándoles disciplina, perseverancia y liderazgo tanto dentro como fuera del tapete de lucha (la colchoneta donde practican y compiten). Su compromiso con los estudiantes y con la comunidad de Quincy ha ayudado a formar a generaciones de jóvenes y a fortalecer la tradición de la lucha en nuestro distrito.
