Quincy School District to Honor 2023 Wall of Fame Inductess

QUINCY, WA – July 26, 2023, Five outstanding individuals will be inducted into the Quincy School District's Wall of Fame for the class of 2023. The honorees are Brad Duda, Chris Baumgartner, Harriet Weber, Cory Medina, and Whitney Gregg, who have brought honor to themselves, the schools, and the community through their remarkable achievements and contributions.

Brad Duda, a former Quincy athlete, and graduate, holds a unique record as the only undefeated wrestling champion in QHS history. He excelled in multiple high school sports and went on to play college baseball. With several education degrees from three different universities, Brad's accomplishments are truly impressive.

Chris Baumgartner has been a devoted supporter of Quincy athletics and students for many years. After coaching several sports, including a successful tenure as the Head track coach, he continued to assist with athletic programs. Chris later became a school board member and has dutifully served for several years.

Harriet Weber is an ardent advocate for the arts and Quincy youth. Her dedication to the Quincy Valley Historical Society has allowed Quincy's elementary students to connect with local and state history. Harriet has also supported the arts such as the high school spectrum choir, fostering community engagement.

Cory Medina, a Quincy High School alumnus, and former athlete, represented Quincy in multiple state track meets. His school records in five events have stood for over 22 years. Cory has since become a teacher and coach for Quincy schools, contributing to the community's growth.

Whitney Gregg, a former Quincy graduate, and athlete, currently serves as principal for Ancient Lakes Elementary. Her past achievements as the 2A WA state pole vaulting champion and her exceptional character have made her a source of pride for the town and school. Whitney's influence as a principal, teacher, and track and field coach has positively impacted many students.

The five recipients were selected by a committee that consisted of community members, former students, and current and former staff members. Nominations were submitted electronically, and after careful deliberation, the selection committee came to a final vote in June.

Recipients will be inducted during halftime at the home football game on September 15 at the Quincy High School stadium. Plaques will then be displayed on the wall outside the Quincy High School gym.
